What Should You Do During Your Massage ?

This is your personal time to just RELAX! Time to close your eyes and immerse yourself into a state of quiet time.  Listen to the soothing music being played in the background.  Inhale all the aromatherapy  smells around you. The lights are dimmed and the massage strokes are taking you into a comfort state... let everything GO! Leave the stress behind and E N J O Y ! 😊 I never understand some people who  FEEL like they have to talk ALL the way through the massage 😲... you are paying good money to RELAX.  But hey it's YOUR time do what you like. I talk before your massage session to ask you questions.  This better prepares me to give you the best massage possible. Is It Ok For Your Massage Therapist To Text during Your Massage Session?

Absolutely NOT! I have worked with Many Massage Therapists in my Massage Career.It amazes me at the stupid things they will DO during a #Professional Massage session. I've seen many "Bad Massage " habits in my time! The worst one I believe is "Texting " on their cellphone while massaging a client. Bad habits are developed overtime if you the client doesn't speak up! DON'T  let your Massage Therapist get away with it! You are paying good money to get a quality massage.  πŸ’° You as the client must make this clear to the Therapist.  Tell them you don't approve of them texting while your getting your massage!  I seriously am appalled that The Massage Professional at times gets away with this. This is NOT ok! This is NOT standard practice! 😣 There are many things wrong with texting . The Massage Therapist should solely give you the client 100% attention!  It's completely unprofessional, disrespectful and selfish towards you the client!  🀀 I k

Do You Know What Muscle " Knots " Are?

HAVE you ever had muscle knots in your body? They can be located in your neck or back.  They are tight fibers in your muscles that are unable to release. They are tender and painful. This pesky little nodules cause decreased blood flow to the areas. So lack of oxygen happens and build up of waste products. Sounds disgusting I know! 😣 NO wonder the pain doesn't go away by itself!  Muscle knots cause Pain! We want  to help give you the best possible massage.  It's up to you to voice your opinion . There are soo many massage styles and protocols today more than ever! Keep in mind that based on your answers to our questions... we as massage therapists  put together a game plan for your massage time. Be specific about your answers to our questions PLEASE! This is why we interview you before your massage to get a better idea of what will work for you. DON'T  be shy or scared. Why Do You Need To Drink Water After A Massage?

I always find it necessary to ask my clients how much water they drink. Most will say enough or alil.. does wine ? Alcohol and Beer count ?  Coffee ? NO! People will complain how much pain they are in. How their muscles are tight and ache. You know why my friends? It's because of the lack of water you drink! A person should drink about half their body weight in ounces daily.  So this means if you weigh 200 lbs then drink 100 ounces of water everyday. For sure if you are very active or it's a hot day drink more to keep hydrated. When a client lays on my massage table I can tell how dehydrated they are. I do a skin rolling thing with my fingers. If the muscle tissue is dehydrated it won't roll smoothly. Now imagine your muscle fibers thick as spaghetti. Your blood is thickened because of the lack of water you don't drink!  NOW your body toxins become trapped in your muscles.  Now you feel the pain and aches? EXACTLY!  You probably have headaches? Oh We may spend 6 to 8 hours sleeping each night.. Maybe some people more or less. Did you know the way you sleep actually  has a huge impact in your life?  Those poor sleeping positions you twist yourself into at night are causing neck pain and causes irregular spine alignment. Many clients call us because they are suffering with neck and back pain. It's our job as Massage Therapists to massage the pain away and show them how they can benefit to a Great night's sleep through regular Massages. 😊 There are different sleeping positions such as lying on your side, lying on your back, lying on your stomach, and lying with your body all twisted in strange positions. The shelves are bare in Kroger, Trader Joe's, Publix and pretty much any grocery store where Milk and bread exists. So the weekend is here...you had probably a long week at work. Aren't you tired from ALL the hard work you put in the past week? Yes baby it's COLD outside!  Cold weather, Pain in your joints , massage therapy and hot chocolate go together right?! πŸ˜… Yep the COLD BRRR weather just hit Nashville! Icy roads with forecasted snow coming in. Also the aches and pains come with the flu virus. Ya not so much FUN! I'm staying in drinking Hot Chocolate and writing this blog. 😁 So somehow when the cold settles in so does the aches and pains in the body. So you are probably wondering what is the best solution right ?! Massage chairs were becoming more and more popular. When massage chairs first came out they were typically only seen in nail salons, malls, and other retail shops. Now massage chairs can be  purchased at many retail  stores or online.  But can technology really replace a humans’ touch? Can a machine really provide the same holistic healing that a trained Licensed  massage therapist can? In my personal opinion  " NO!"  😐 So massage chairs now-a-days have many different settings and choices. The remote allows each person to select what they feel they need.
